Monster in the house...

We have a monster in the house, actually we have two, according to Noah. Both reside in the kitchen/dining area. Noah talks about them regularly. The one above the fridge isn't as frightening as the one that he sees above the dinner table. I'm not sure what brought on all this monster talk.

The first time he saw the monster above the table we were eating dinner. He starting crying and got down from the table and kept asking to go to the car. Then he pointed above my head and said there was a monster. He was terrified and said, "I want dad to fight the monster." At this point, Scott had already left the table to shower and get ready for bed so when he came back out I told he needed to tell the monster to go away. I had already told the monster to scat, but Noah wanted Scott to do it too. In the meantime, poor Noah kept asking to get in the car.

The next morning, he pointed above the fridge, again above where I was standing and said, "The monster flick your hair."

This has gone on for a couple weeks. Last night, while on the computer Noah played with Lego's under the desk area and kept repeating again that the fridge monster was going to flick my hair. Noah and I had the following conversation.

Me: "Is that monster a boy or girl?"

Noah: "Boy."

Me: "Boy or man?"

Noah: "Man."

Me: "What color hair does he have...brown, black, red?"

Noah: "Brown like us."

Me: "What does he want?"

Noah: Peaking his head out from under the desk he looked up and said, "popcorn."

"Popcorn? Well then, we have a hungry monster on our hands."

Too bad for the monster...I didn't have one bag of popcorn otherwise I might have made it.

Noah is so funny! I can't believe he's already at the stage where they pretend to see stuff.
