Freegan Decorating

Here is my freegan family room. I'm going for a light, clean look. I'm not finished, but you get the idea.

I'm going to put some new art in the large frame.

Bought these curtains from my sis-in-law for $20. They are a bit short, I'm going to sew a thick band of brown along the sides and on the bottom.

Have you heard of the Freegan movement? Freeganism is an anti-consumerism lifestyle whereby people employ alternative living strategies based on minimal consumption of resources. Now that being said, you won't find me dumpster diving for my next meal but, I am a freegan decorator. Most of my furnishing have been purchased second-hand at garage sales or at second-hand stores or given to me. I find it is wise both for the pocket book and the earth to get used items and re-purpose them to make them my own.
