Pears

Last Saturday, I drove up to El Dorado Hills and picked up my Oregon pears. I ordered three boxes and also picked up my cousin's boxes. After loading the boxes into our cars there were four extra boxes that could be purchased. Three were bought up fast, and the lone box sitting on the back of the truck had Scott's name on it. So, I wrote out a check and brought it home too.

I got some good advice regarding preserving fruit from my Aunt Mickey via my cousin Roxcy. Her advice was to buy enough so that the family can have their fill on the fresh pears and then they will leave your jars alone. Therefore, the four boxes. She was correct, Scott has already started eating them...green. Maybe, I should have bought five boxes.

I took this picture two days ago and they are already turning. I'm going to be busy next week.
